So many demands on your paddling time – but make this year the time you try as many different types of paddling as possible: Sea kayaking with Dave and Ken, Polo with Andy and Lesley, Slalom with Duncan, Andy and Scott and of course Racing.
You saw it in the Olympics now you can race too. We have a fantastic range of races available in the region this year including many near to Kingston Kayak Club.
We have racing boats that will be available for use by paddlers of all abilities for the marathons although it will be on a first come basis as they are limited in number.
The Yorkshire Sprint Series is specifically designed to introduce people into racing and there will be a wide range of boats available on the day to try.

The marathons are from 2 miles for the Lightnings (U10 and U12). Normally 3 or 4 miles for Division 9. This year try a Division race rather than a Fun Race – same distance normally and you could get ranked! There are separate classes for those who like to paddle an open boat as well.
The Sprint series are from 100m upwards depending on venue. A great chance to try out a range of racing boats – K1’s and K2’s. We are also trying to get a Rocket K4 for junior paddlers to try.
Different KKC members will be promoting individual races.
Remember the marathon races can also be used for qualifying journeys for PaddlePower and Star Testing.
